We spent a wonderful September holiday at the Stella Mare 4* hotel in Zavala, a beautiful calm place, stunning views from terrace, clean spacious apartments and excellent beds and mattresses. The hotel provides in a family restaurant with really delicious meals and the breakfast is also served very various. The hotel and staff services are excellent and really professional, very accommodating. We had a wonderful time during our holiday, on beautiful beaches and in the clear sea!

The amazing location of this place is impossible to capture in photographs! When relaxing in the infinity pool the sea stretches out in front of you as far as the eye can see. The pool was never too busy. Well priced drinks and snacks at the pool bar. Numerous amazing spots for sea swimming can be found within 10 minutes' walk of the hotel (some of these are not beaches but places where you can climb into the water from the rocks - but we found them safe and easy to navigate). Beautiful, calm, crystal clear water with 360 views. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable. The family and staff make a special effort to welcome you and make sure all your needs are attended to. We felt thoroughly relaxed by the time of leaving and would return!

Wow! A true escape from the everyday. From the moment we arrived, we felt relaxed. Wonderful, clean and spacious room. With wraparound balcony. Stunning sea view towards Korcula. Matteo and his family who own this hotel, have completely nailed it in terms of hospitality and excellence. This was our absolute favourite hotel and location in our travels down the Dalmatian coast. Hvar as an island feels so good, with a relaxed vibe and we loved the little towns and coves. The pool was stunning, so clean and refreshing overlooking the sea. Great little pool bar served drinks and snacks. We hired a car to get out and explore, but loved Zavala and the short walk to the little beaches so didn’t use the car much! Simple tavernas within walking distance, serving fresh seafood and locally produce. Really what is not to like! If you want to escape the crowds - this really is your place.

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago. We moved around Croatia a very beautiful country. Stella Mare was a littler haven of pure relaxation away from the tourist areas with beautiful surroundings and crystal clear sea. A lovely family run place with a family who were so welcoming and attentive. We loved our stay here.

The property is family owned and they treat all their guests as family. Rooms are spacious and super clean . The location was ideal for me . The beach was just steps from the property. The breakfast was really good. They produce their own olive oil and wine which was impressive. Matteo was so attentive and met all our needs .

A true retreat, this beautiful place is surrounded by olive trees, lavender and lemon trees looking over the most stunning view of the ocean. The food at dinner was absolutely incredible all cooked by the mother - the fresh fish and veggies were divine! The family took such great care of us - we really had the best few days

We had an amazing time here at Stella Mare! The food was exceptionally good (try their seafood pasta & grilled fish, you wont regret it!), the boutique is beauuuutiful, the staff was very friendly & would go above and beyond to ensure you have a great time. Most importantly the hospitality of Teo, Matteo (& his lovely wife) made our stay so special! You wont find a better host anywhere else. We definitely will be staying here again if we come back to Hvar! Oh and we got a free upgrade to a bigger appartement on the top floor. The seaview from the balcony there is magical! Very appreciated ♡

Als ik meer dan een 10 kon geven had ik het gedaan! Fantastisch boutique hotel. We kregen een upgrade naar een prachtig 4 persons appt met groot balkon inclusief jacuzzi met uitzicht op zee. De ontvangst en het verblijf was heerlijk. De gastheren Theo en Matteo doen alles om je je thuis te voelen en vertellen graag over wat je kunt ondernemen, maar ook de cultuur op Hvar. Het ontbijt was meer dan goed met uitgebreide keuze. Het diner ‘s avonds (menu) was perfect met verse vis (octopus, garnalen en zeebaars) en heerlijke wijn. Ook hier weer de uitleg van Mateo maakte het perfect. Zelfs bij ons vertrek heel vroeg was Theo er om snel iets voor ontbijt te maken en nog wat tips voor onderweg. Wat een superverblijf!!

La famille au petit soin avec nous. Nous avons été upgrade, les hôtes nous ont offert le verre que nous avions pris en attendant, le service était impeccable. Le cocktail au bord de la piscine c'est vraiment parfait et si vous préférez la mer, il y a des plages à seulement 10 min. Nous reviendrons pour y passer plus de temps.

This establishment is run by a wonderful family. They go out of their way to make you comfortable and your stay enjoyable. You are welcomed in as part of the family and so well looked after. The food, cooked by Nada, is out of this world. Matteo is always there to make sure everything is perfect, with lots of interesting information and suggestions of things to do and places to go. The location is quiet and beautiful with the unspoilt natural coastline only a few steps away.

From the moment we arrived and were greeted by welcoming and friendly hosts to the moment we left everything was just wonderful. The hotel is small enough to feel personal , its calm, stylish and comfortable. Everything was clean and fresh. Our top floor room was delightful, large and roomy with a kitchenette, lounge area and bathroom. The view of the sea and across to the islands from the balcony was just great. The aircon worked well ( as did everything )The beds were comfy. Parking was within the hotel grounds. The infinity pool was dreamy. Such a wonderful place to swim and relax and admire the beautiful terracing of olives and lavender and the sea. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. A short walk down the path led to the sea with a path along the coast going past several beach bars and restaurants.
